What We DoNaturopathic MedicineNaturopathic medicine is a philosophy of medicine that recognizes the body's innate ability to heal. The job of the Naturopathic Doctor is to find the cause of the disease and remove it and then support the body's healing process. 6 Principles guide Naturopathic medicine:
Naturopathic Doctors are licensed doctors who perform primary care medicine. They diagnose and treat disease, perform physical exams, request lab work and write prescriptions as needed. Traditionally they treat patients using nutritional supplements, hydrotherapy, diet and lifestyle changes, homeopathy, Chinese medicine, and bodywork. Homeopathic MedicineHomeopathic medicine is a 200 year-old holistic medicine which assists the body's inherent ability to heal itself. Homeopathic medicine is gentle and non-invasive. It can be effective in treating both acute and chronic health conditions. An initial consultation consists of a patient's history, which includes questions about themselves and their lifestyle. Physical, mental and emotional aspects of the patient are examined. This background is used to guide the homeopath to a prescription. Homeopathy does not suppress the symptoms but looks at regaining health by identifying and treating the cause of the illness. As the prescription begins to effect the body, physical and emotional changes may occur. Homeopathic medicines are non-toxic and safe. There are no known contraindications of drug interactions between homeopathic and conventional medicines. |
